It is delivered as part of the State-led Implementation Network on the Safe Schools Declaration. \n Representatives from the Ministries of Education\, Defence and Foreign Affairs from approximately 25 endorsing states have been invited to participate\, with a mix of states that are affected by armed conflict and attacks on education\, and those that can play a role in promoting SSD implementation at the global and regional level. \nThe training is aimed at encouraging participants to share knowledge and experience in protecting education during conflict and insecurity\, through a series of practical exercises\, case studies\, and group discussions. It will provide participants with a solid understanding of the Safe Schools Declaration and introduce them to the existing tools and resources to support their efforts in implementing the Declaration’s commitments.

SUMMARY:International Day to Protect Education from Attack
DESCRIPTION:The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 9 September the International Day to Protect Education from Attack in 2020. The announcement coincided with the fifth anniversary of the Safe Schools Declaration\, an inter-governmental commitment led by Norway and Argentina to protect education at all levels. Resolution 74/275 was introduced by the State of Qatar\, co-sponsored by 60 states\, and adopted by consensus. GCPEA recognises the leadership of H.H. Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser\, the Founder of Education Above All Foundation\, in calling for this resolution\, which provides a unique annual opportunity for mobilization to protect education from attack.
