2015: Attended the state consultations on the SSD in Geneva – led by Norway + 2015: Present at the First International Conference on the SSD in Oslo.

September 2017: GCPEA sent a letter to the ambassador in New York asking to raise the issue on attacks and military use, draw attention to the Declaration and the Guidelines and alsoto mention AU call to endorse during the Open Debate on children and armed conflict. Liberia co-hosted with Argentina and Norway an high level dialogue and AU Liaison office in Addi Abeba organized by Save the Children Pan Africa with the aim to galvanize support for the protection of education from attacks and military use and to promote the implementation of the Declaration and the Guidelines.

March 2018: Following sustained advocacy by the Save the Children Pan-African and AU Liaison, on 13 March, the PSC Ambassadors of Nigeria and Liberia announced the formation of the African Union Group of Friends on Children and Armed Conflict and invited more member states to join. Uganda expressed their intention to join the Group of Friends.

July 2018: Co-sponsored resolution 2427 (2018).

November 2022: Endorsed the Political Declaration on Strengthening the Protection of Civilians from the Humanitarian Consequences Arising from the Use of Explosive Weapons in Populated Areas (EWIPA) on 18 November during an International Conference hosted by Ireland, the leader and penholder behind the Declaration.
