June 2022: Apolline was in touch by email with the Consular in GVA Mr. Goldstein – shared information about SSD, Guidelines, endorsement procedure. He promised to share to his capital (said he was unaware of this Dedclaration) and recommend endorsement.

November 2022: Endorsed the Political Declaration on Strengthening the Protection of Civilians from the Humanitarian Consequences Arising from the Use of Explosive Weapons in Populated Areas (EWIPA) on 18 November during an International Conference hosted by Ireland, the leader and penholder behind the Declaration.

November 2022: Following Colombia’s endorsement to the SSD, GCPEA convinced and supported the Permanent Mission of Argentina in Geneva to send a Note Verbale to the remaining GRULAC non-endorsing states: Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela – encouraging them to endorse the SSD.

January 2023: Apolline spoke on the phone with the Mission in Geneva. He said that they were aware of the SSD but it was not a priority since they were not a conflict-affected country. We followed up with the letter, encouraging them to endorse.
