January 2016: GCPEA issued a letter to the Foreign Minister of Andorra to encourage endorsement of the Declaration.

January 2017: GCPEA issued a letter to the Foreign Minister of Andorra to encourage endorsement of the Declaration.

March 2017: The Foreign Minister responded to a tweet from Bede, with a link to a press statement announcing Andorra’s endorsement. https://twitter.com/gilbertsaboya/status/847487690312372226 Andorra announced their endorsement in March, bringing the number of endorsing states to 63. GCPEA issued thank-you letters to the Foreign Ministers of all new endorsing states.

September 2017 UNSC: GCPEA sent a letter to the Ambassador in New York asking to raise the issue of attacks and military use and draw attention to the Declaration and the Guidelines and also congratulate them on endorsing since the last debate in view of the Open Debate on Children and Armed Conflict.

February 2018: During OPAC Turns 18, at the UN in New York, organized by Child Soldiers International, highlighted the Declaration in their statement.

July 2018: Joined Argentina’s joint statement to the UN SC during the open debate on children and armed conflict. Co-sponsored resolution 2427 (2018). Mentioned and welcomed the Safe Schools Declaration during the statement to the SC. Andorra also joined the statement of Canada on behalf of the GoF which mentioned the Safe Schools Declaration.

March 2019: Clustered Interactive Dialogue with the SRSG CAAC Virginia Gamba, HRC Geneva: joined Norway’s joint statement on the Safe Schools Declaration.

May 2019: Participated in the Third International Conference in Palma.

October 2021: cosponsored UNSRC2601.

December 2021: positive statement at arria meeting on the protection of education during armed conflict citing SSD. “Concerned by the increased of attacks against schools” … “it’s in this context that the Safe Schools Declaration is crucial. I would like to invite countries who haven’t done so yet, to endorse it”; It is key to have exchanges of information, “we welcome the effort of global and regional meetings on the Safe Schools Declaration to work on implementation” . Recommend to add protection of education in the work of the UPR

July 2022: At the UNSC CAAC debate :
– Concerned by increase in attacks on schools
– Calling on all parties to conflict to respect the commitments of the Safe Schools Declaration

November 2022: Endorsed the Political Declaration on Strengthening the Protection of Civilians from the Humanitarian Consequences Arising from the Use of Explosive Weapons in Populated Areas (EWIPA) on 18 November during an International Conference hosted by Ireland, the leader and penholder behind the Declaration.
