2015: Attended the state consultations on the SSD in Geneva – led by Norway + 2015: Present at the First International Conference on the SSD in Oslo.
Mission in Addis approached by STC to take lead in planned awareness-raising workshop on the Guidelines (Oct 2015), but did not attend breakfast meeting.
September 2017 UNSC: GCPEA sent a letter to the Ambassador in New York asking to raise the issue on attacks and military use, draw attention to the Declaration and the Guidelines and to mention the AU call to endorse during the Open Debate on children and armed conflict. We also asked to mention AU to call to endorse and ask to encourage other AU members to join.
July 2018: UNSC Open Debate on children and armed conflict: 1) Co-sponsored resolution 2427 (2018). 2) referred to military use of schools in the statement.
October 2021: cosponsored UNSRC2601.
November 2022: Endorsed the Political Declaration on Strengthening the Protection of Civilians from the Humanitarian Consequences Arising from the Use of Explosive Weapons in Populated Areas (EWIPA) on 18 November during an International Conference hosted by Ireland, the leader and penholder behind the Declaration.

What, if anything, the country has done to protect education and/or implement any of the 8 commitments outlined in the Declaration.
March 2018: The armed forces of Cote d’Ivoire have integrated modules on the rights and protection of children, including the six grave violations, into the trainings provided in military schools, academies and training centers, including a specific module on “the of the child.prohibition of occupation of schools and training institutions”. The training is established in the four military regions of Côte d’Ivoire. A child protection cell is run by trained military personnel to lead this work. There is a mechanism to monitor cases of human rights violations, including sexual violence and violations of the rights and protection of the child by the armed forces.
Note: Save the Children Sweden is working in partnership with the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and in collaboration with CADHA, an NGO that trains armed forces on protection of human rights, and has at its headquarters in Camp Gallieni, the central military base of the armed forces. With support from Save Sweden, the center has been equipped with technical equipment and teaching materials to teach and sensitize military personnel on the rights and protection
