October 2016: GCPEA sent letter to Foreign Minister. January 2017: Geneva mission gave negative response to meeting request but welcomed information by email.

May 2017: Geneva Mission refused meeting request and indicated that they have no immediate intention to endorse the Declaration. Deputy Executive Director of HRW (Bruno) wrote to Geneva Mission and NY Ambassador to ask for more information on their position before reporting to the media.

June 2018: Zama met with First Secretary Clotilde Ferry who seemed very interested in endorsing and were well-versed in the Safe Schools Declaration. Monaco were invested in seeing how the Declaration translated to action. The First Secretary noted other small countries in Europe had signed on (Luxembourg, Andorra).Would be helpful for these countries to reach out and make sure endorsement is carried through.

June 2018: Clotilde Ferry sent a letter to capital to endorse the safe school declaration letting them know that it was complementary to their co-sponsorship of the Security Council resolutions on children and armed conflict. They might not speak during the open debate on children and armed conflict but will certainly co-sponsor the draft resolution.

July 2018: Co-sponsored resolution 2427 (2018).

March 2019: attended GCPEA side-event on “Better Protecting Women and Girls from Attacks on Education” in Geneva. Clustered Interactive Dialogue with the SRSG CAAC Virginia Gamba, HRC Geneva: joined Norway’s joint statement on the Safe Schools Declaration.

October 2021: cosponsored UNSRC2601.

November 2022: Endorsed the Political Declaration on Strengthening the Protection of Civilians from the Humanitarian Consequences Arising from the Use of Explosive Weapons in Populated Areas (EWIPA) on 18 November during an International Conference hosted by Ireland, the leader and penholder behind the Declaration.
