December 2018: GCPEA met with an expert in the Permanent Mission of the Solomon Islands, who was very nice but seemed quite junior. She did not know the background and listened carefully. She promised to report. Reference to the UK’s endorsement and their efforts to increase the level of endorsement in the Commonwealth did not seem of much interest. She encouraged engagement through the Maldives, which is chairing a group of small island Commonwealth states. GCPEA followed up in writing, sharing a letter for the Foreign Minister.
