3 Students killed in Arab coalition bombing in central Yemen

SanaaApr 7 (EFE).- Three students were killed on Tuesday during an air raid launched by the Saudi-led Arab coalition on a military base controlled by the Shiite Houthi movement, a base that was located near a school in central Yemen.

Witnesses told Efe that the airstrike hit a school nearby the Hamza military base, adjacent to the central Yemeni town of Eb.

The military base belongs to the Republican Guard, which is loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, and fighting alongside the Houthi militants.

Since the beginning of the Arab coalition offensive on March 26, there have been numerous allegations that the bombings have caused civilian casualties.

While the coalition argues that its aircraft are only targeting Houthi positions, but that they hide amongst civilians and even use them as human shields.

Nearly 13 days of continuous airstrikes have failed to crush the Shiite rebels, who took control over the southern port city of Aden on Monday, the largest port in the country.

The escalating violence in Yemen, particularly in Aden, has deteriorated the already fragile humanitarian situation, given the difficulty in delivering aid
