The five school girls were traveling on three motorcycles back home from school after finishing their examination on the Basaair-Nagate road at Ban Totuwor in tambon Pitumudee of Yarang when the home-made bomb buried near the road went off.

Miss Hapueso Sadeh, 18, grade 6 student of Prasanwitthaya Mullanithi school, died instantly at the spot. She was hit by several bomb shrapnel in the head, face and torso.

The injured victims, all from the same school, are Mariyae Sadeh, 16, younger sister of the dead victim, Mariyae Dueramae, 16, Maseeto Salaema, 16, and Aresoh Salaema, 16. They were taken to Yarang hospital.

Witnesses told police that the bombers aimed to harm the soldiers on a bus running in front of the students’ bikes, but failed because the bomb exploded just after the bus had passed the spot.

Police blamed separatist militants who wanted to incite violence without caring about civilian or student will be killed in the attack.
