Beathe Øgård is an Advocacy Adviser at GCPEA. Beathe has worked on advocacy and international development, with a specific focus on education in various roles, both in Norway and internationally. Her academic background is in political science and international development studies. Most recently, Beathe has worked as an advocacy adviser for the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) and as a senior advocacy adviser in Save the Children Norway on arms control and development policy. She is the former president of SAIH – The Norwegian Students’ and Academics’ International Assistance Fund (2017-2019), an international solidarity movement working particularly on the right to education and academic freedom, including monitoring attacks on students and academics globally. She has previous experience working with UN Women and the Norwegian Embassy in Yangon, Myanmar.
