Education under Attack 2020 Launch Event

In the Education under Attack 2020 launch event, GCPEA, together with the Permanent Missions of Norway, Argentina, Nigeria, Qatar and Spain to the UN in Geneva, released the findings from the 2020 edition of its flagship report, Education Under Attack, a global study of targeted and indiscriminate attacks on schools and universities, their students and staff, from 2017 to 2019.

The event underscored trends in educational institutions being bombed and burned and used for military purposes, and students and educators being killed , injured , raped, abducted and recruited at schools and en route to them. Speakers highlighted the impact of these attacks and progress in preventing and responding to them.
