State-led implementation network for the Safe Schools Declaration

About the state-led implementation network
At the Third International Conference on Safe Schools in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, Norway undertook to establish a network of states to mutually support and strengthen the implementation of the Safe Schools Declaration. The network will promote cooperation, assistance, and peer-to-peer exchange between endorsing states. It will strengthen state-ownership of the implementation process, whilst also providing an opportunity for states to receive support from a global community of experts, participate in discussions and practical exercises, and discuss challenges in a confidential forum. By sharing concrete, effective measures to protect students, teachers, schools and universities from attack, states can inspire and provide guidance to each other and other partners.

Members of the state-led implementation network can engage through the Workplace communication tool.

How to Get Involved

As an endorsing state, your government will be invited to join the State-led Implementation Network, an initiative led by Norway. A key objective of the network will be to support and strengthen concrete action in operationalizing the commitments within the Declaration. States will be invited to share experiences, participate in trainings and global discussions, and take part in an online collaborative platform. As part of the network's activities, Spain recently launched the first comprehensive international training program on the Declaration and will convene similar capacity building programs in the future.
